ERA Login Troubleshooting

Depending on how your account was set up by your company’s ERA Administrator, you'll be using one of two methods to log in: LDAP or ERA Live login. Here's how to know which one applies to you:

First Time Running ERA?

  • If this is the first time you're seeing the login window and you were told by your ERA Administrator to log in, then you're likely using ERA Live for authentication. See below under “I am logging in via ERA Live Login.”
  • If you were not told by your administrator to log in, but merely to open ERA, then your machine needs to be approved for use. Open ERA and email kmtsupport@kmtechnology.com to let them know you have done so. Once they approve your machine for use, you will be able to open ERA successfully.

Experiencing an Unexpected Login Prompt? If you're used to ERA logging you in automatically and are suddenly seeing a login prompt, one of two scenarios is likely:

  • Your ERA Live Login Expired: ERA login will expire periodically and you’ll be required to log in again. See below under “I am logging in via ERA Live Login.”
  • You’ve Never Seen This Prompt Before: It’s likely that your account is set up for LDAP login. This is common for users who have been with ERA for a while. See below under “I am logging in via LDAP Login.”

Still not sure? Reach out to your ERA Administrator to confirm the correct login method to use.

I am logging in via ERA Live Login:

Login through ERA Live by clicking the “ERA Live Login” button.

Common scenarios:

  • Your previous license through ERA Live has expired.
  • You have never logged in via ERA Live.

If you have hit the “ERA Live Login” button and have been returned to this screen, then you need to be added to the whitelist for your company. Please contact your ERA administrator.

I am logging in via LDAP Login:

If this is your first time opening ERA and have been returned to this screen, then you may need to be added to the whitelist for your company. Please contact your ERA administrator.

Your domain status is showing “Unable to connect”.

Ensure that you have a network connection and that if you use a VPN that you are connected to it, otherwise contact your ERA Administrator or IT department.

Common scenarios:

  • You might be working remotely and need to VPN into your company’s network.
  • You might be a contractor, need to fill in the “LDAP login” information, and possibly VPN into your client’s network

Your domain status is showing “Connected to <some domain>”.

Contact your ERA Administrator or IT department and tell them, “I do not have access to use ERA, the Kerberos service principal in our active directory used by ERA is either disabled or has had its permissions revoked.”
